Reunification Poster Exhibition
German Unification Poster Exhibition Opens in Goseong
The German Unification Poster Exhibition opened on September 8 at the Reunification Observatory in Goseong County, with a view of the Gumgangsan Mountains. On the second floor, the Hanns Seidel Foundation presents 20 posters on the prehistory and history of reunification from 1989 to 1990. The exhibition focuses on Germany’s division and reunification.
The posters were developed by the Federal Foundation for the Study of the Communist Dictatorship in East Germany, translated into Korean, and are part of the DMZ programme within the framework of the Korea-Germany Forum taking place this month in Seoul. The Forum is organized by the Korea-Germany Association and the Korea Foundation for International Cultural Exchange.
The opening ceremony was attended by Dr. Bernhard Seliger (Hanns Seidel Foundation), Kim Young-soo (Hanns Seidel Foundation), Hartmut Koschyk (former Parliamentary State Secretary, Honorary Chairman of the Korea-Germany Forum, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation for Solidarity with Germans Abroad), and Ham Myeong-jun (County Mayor of Goseong). The exhibition will remain open until the end of September.
