At the annual meeting of International Aid Korea, an organization devoted to bring medical aid to those, who need it, in Africa, Asia and on the Korean Peninsula, Dr. Bernhard Seliger, representative of Hanns Seidel Foundation in Korea, talked about possibilities for cooperation with North Korea. He recalled the experiences in fields like renewable energy, afforestation and nature protection, but also medical cooperation. Still today, the need to bring vitamins as a health supplement for children, and simple medicines, is very great in the North Korean countryside, especially during the winter season. While the cities, in particular Pyongyang, saw a rapid development in the past six years, life in the countryside remains challenging.
