“Science and Technology of North Korea in the Media”

On October 8, 2021, from 9.00 am to 11.30 am, the UKAST-KRIBB-ASIP Symposium 2021 takes place at Jeju National University. You can also join the event online via Zoom.

On Friday, October 8, 2021, from 9.00 am to 11.30 am the UKAST-KRIBB-ASIP Symposium 2021 takes place at Jeju National University Auditorium No. 154, College of Economics & Commerce, as well as online via Zoom. The event is co-hosted by Unification Korea Association of Science and Technology (UKAST), Korea Research Institute of Bioscience and Biotechnology (KRIBB) and Asian Society for Innovation and Policy (ASIP) featuring several experts at the panel discussion, including Dr. Bernhard Seliger from HSFK.

Under the title “Science and Technology of North Korea in the Media” the program consists of two sessions, including three keynote speeches and the mentioned panel discussion afterwards. In session one you will hear about the “Types and Reporting Trends of S&T Articles in the Rodong Sinmun of DPRK”, “Northern Korean Science-Technology and Terminology in the Media: focusing on Astronomy” and “A Media Study on the South Korean Press toward Science and Technology of North Korea: Focusing on Frame and Information Source Analysis”. In session two Dr. Bernhard Seliger will discuss with Mr. Kang from NK economy, Mr. Kim from SBS as well as Dr. Stone from AAAS.
