Meeting with the Foundation for the Rural Youth

Korea, like many other developed economies, experiences a brain drain from rural areas to the cities…the attraction of mega-region Seoul is particularly great. Therefore, a policy of nurturing rural future leaders is very important – this is the task, the Foundation for the Rural Youth under the Ministry of Gender Equality and Families fulfills. Today Dr. Kang Namsik, Secretary General of the Foundation, together with General Planning Manager Jung Hunchan visited Hanns-Seidel-Foundation of Korea to discuss cooperation in South Korea and the whole Korean Peninsula. While currently there are no established programs of youth exchange of North and South, such a policy could be an important step to build trust and dispel prejudices.
