Visit at the Institute for Political Education

The central topic was therefore the concept and program of the Institute for Political Education, which Mrs. von Winning, head of department, presented and discussed with the guests. The overriding goal of the institute is to allow the entire population of Bavaria (for historical reasons, the work of the Institute for Political Education is limited to the state of Bavaria) to participate in democracy. Therefore, there is a very wide range of events, both in terms of formats, target groups and themes. From specialist information for Bavaria's mostly voluntary local politicians to seminars or lectures for pupils and interested citizens, the institute organizes around 1250 seminars a year at various locations in Bavaria. It is important that in principle all social groups are addressed and can get involved during the event so that political opinion can be formed.

The discussion was concluded with information about the Institute for International Cooperation, whose work was presented by Mr. Willi Lange, speaker for North-East and Central Asia, and about the significance of political foundations in Germany in general.
